taped up duct leaks now not cooling

http://www.diychatroom.com/members/s...t/5660-ac-003/My furnace and ducts are in the attic, I noticed cold air blowing on me when I was up there, so I got some tape and started taping. Now AC doesn't cool house below 75 this hasn't been a problem before. Did I get to aggressive with taping? It has been very hot here yesterday 112.
Thank you for you help.

Unless you taped over a duct so no air can get out, it's not going to have anything to do with it not cooling.
You did use foil tape, right, reguler Duck tape will rot and leak over time.

Thanks, yes used foil tape, tape over the plugs and where the 2 pipes come in. added picture to post.

Coincidence that this occurred at the same time. Your system was never designed to handle 112 degree ambient temperature, none of them are. They are designed for a regional average temp, mine here in Houston being 95 degrees. Anything above that is considered extreme and they all begin to struggle.

You did the right thing.

Test it for yourself, pull that tape off and it'll still struggle.

Thanks I appreciate your help. No need to pull the tape it's way to hot to be in the attic, I'll take your word for it.
Thanks again.
