Taco 00R-IFC circulator - squeaking

Just had a new boiler installed witha Taco 00R-IFC 3-speed circulator. The HVAC installer left it on the middle speed, and from the living room upstairs I can hear it squeaking when it is running. Not terribly loud, but loud enough to be annoying.

Is this normal? I turned the pump speed to low, and it is way better. But i assume it shouldnt be making those sounds?

Also, how do I know what speed is appropriate? The boiler is a Triangle Tube prestige solo 110.

Thanks.

If it is running too slow then the boiler water temp will get higher and it may short cycle the boiler and you won't get fast enough heat in the coldest rooms. Unless we can clearly hear the sound in a video we don't know so I would call the installer back. Beenthere may know the normal operating water temp etc.

Taco 00R-IFC circulator - squeaking

This was a response i got from Taco tech support. Is this pretty simple to do on my own or should I call the HVAC installer back? I don't mind calling him, but I'd rather not waste his time (I know him personally) if it's something I can easily do. There are shutoff valves right before and after the pump.

Quote:
The squeaking noise might be from the bellows of the lip seal rubbing on the pump shaft as it rotates. If the noise continues, you might have to replace the cartridge which is covered under the manufactures warranty.

Whenever I go to take apart a pump I want the repair kit with me. If you cannot put it back properly or it springs a leak you have NO heat and need that kit. Not a problem in Summer but now yes. Give him the Taco info and see if he wants to bring a kit with him just in case.
