steam pipe insulation


I am intersted in insulating my steam pipes in my basement i have read this can be done with regular role type insulation used in walls i was looking for some good advice on how to get this done what type to use and the best way to secure to the pipe also i have read some good articles on using 1" pipe insulation being the best i am on a budget and already have several roles of insulation sitting in my garage but i would love some feedback on how to get this done properly
