Steam Heat Auto Water Feeder
Hi guys, I had my boiler checked for the winter, and the guy that came in stated that the auto water feeder should be tied into the hot water, not the cold. It been this way since I purchashed the house, I need some feedbacks before I go changing things around. Thanks guys.

I guess this forum doesn't have steam heat techies, or nobody but me has steam heat!

He's full of it, if it is tied in correctly and has never been an issue, I have never seen one tied into hot water.

I have no idea but I would concur with Big Mike.
If it it aint broke... I did notice some posts at Contractortalk.com that may be worth checking. |
Thanks guys, I will check contractors talk, BigMike, I definately agree with you! This guy was upset since he couldn't find anything wrong, and couldn't make any extra money. It was one of those winter tune ups, where they come in and try to find something wrong.

I have been in HVAC for over 20 yrs, I have never seen any boiler feed from a hotwater source.
