Steam Boiler/ Baseboard hook up in basement

Hi all,
I have a steam boiler, and I would like to connect some hot water baseboards to it in the basement level, to warm up the basement. I see other people do it, they run baseboard around the basement, then they tap into the boilers hot water, hook up a thermostat, pump and relay. Can it be done?

I have a very good idea where the hook ups go, just not familiar what relay to use and how to hook it up to the thermostat and pump?

Thanks to all

this would be a typical relay with a 24v coil to have the stat control it, and have the relay control the pump thru the N.O. contacts. wire the pump direct 115V then break the hot wire thru N.O. relay contact.stat wiring will be R to W with an add on transformer 40VA 115V/24V.TR HOT to R on the stat W out to relay coil other side to C on TR .might cheat 24V off boiler check VA on units TR

Thanks biggles, I already bought the pump and the thermostat. Can you tell me where I can purchase the 24 relay? Model number or link would be awesome.

Thanks again

Beenthere, like that name

This is new to me, haven't been there. Where would I connect the thermostat wires, power to relay, power to pump?

Thanks

Its not hard at all. Very easy. Run the 120 volt line to relay, connect circ to relays terminals, connect thermostat to relays TT terminals, done.
