Question

Stainless chimney liner relining systems

Hi - let me just say again how much I love this forum!

We have received 2 quotes for stainless chimney relining for a 37' brick chimney which will eventually just have our hot air system in it. One quote was about $1600 and the other around $2700.

The lower estimate includes a product called Homesaver Pro 316 Ti and the higher estimate is for Ventinox lining and Thermix boxed insulation. I believe the lower estimate doesn't include any insulation which is about $400 of the higher estimate.

Can anyone let me know what the quality difference might be in these two systems, what other things we should be looking for when it comes to finding a good relining product to use, and any recommendations you may have? Thanks!

Lisa, I know nothing about chimney relining but I was wondering if you decided to go with a certain product.

I'm considering having a chimney relined when I replace a furnace and was considering a stainless option.

Hi; I didn't get any response for my original post, but after doing a lot of research on the net (and I was surprised that there wasn't that much information easily available) we decided to go with the cheaper, Homesaver Pro version. It seems to have a good warranty and is used pretty widely in our area. Good luck to you!
