split installation

I have bought one LG duct type split unit for my apartment.
Its model is TBH366GSS1.Its' liquid and gas piping connections are 1/4 and 5/8.
The previously installed pipes of my apartment are 3/8 and 5/8.
Is it ok to use reducer connector and install it by previously installed pipes?

split installation

if it is a mini split then NO as the liquid line is used as a capillary line. I would replace both of them so you get no leftover oil or contaminants from the old unit into your expensive new unit.
