split a/c question

Hi all - I'm converting 1/2 of our detached 2 car garage into a home theater, and planning on installing an LG Art Cool 12,000 BTU split a/c (heat pump). Will I need to also do something in addition to allow fresh air to enter, or will a split a/c have a mode to either recirculate or pull in fresh air from the outside?

I live in Southern California, about 2 miles from the coast, so temperatures are generally mild - but the room is sealed, heat from equipment + people.

Oh one other question - the theater room has a closet where all the elcetronics will be running, generating heat - what's the best way to keep that room from heating up too much? I was originally thinking of installing a bathroom fan to vent to the attic, but have since read that that's a bad idea, since it will be killing the a/c unit's efficiency (pulling cool air from the room and dumping it into the attic).

split a/c question

You can use a bathroom fan. but have it dump the air into the entertainment room. means you need to install a grille in the wall so cool air can be pulled into it.

Don't know anything about the LG.

Thanks! Does that mean cool air inlet down low, and warm air / fan up high? Or was the grill you're referring to for the fan itself (and cool air would come in from under the door leading to the closet)?

Its similar to other split a/c units, except the fan unit is disguised as a (thick) picture frame. In general do split a/c units support feeding fresh air in in addition to recirculating?

Grille in what to let the cool air into the equipment room.

Not sure if any ductless mini split can intake fresh air.
