Snyder General # GUA080A016AIN ?'s

Hi, Laymen here. I have had this furnace (mfg date: 09-90) sitting in my barn for the last 10 years. I now want to use it and have cleaned the burners up and they look OK. Things I need to do now are:
  • replace broken coil type flame ignitor (CARBO 0206DC)
  • Convert from present Nat Gas to LP.
  • additionally I want to install in horizontal position and perhaps add an AC coil for cooling.
I need help specifying and finding parts resource for the above. The current 4 burner orifices are 3/8" diameter and project 1/2". The opening size is approx .08" diameter.

I thought I have seen that LP requires a W.C. nearing 11. Everything here on this unit is 3.0"-4.5" range. See pictures.

What will I need to get to make this conversion?

Thanks in advance!

this furnace is not convertible to horizontal.

you should first have the furnace heat exchanger checked for cracks. sitting unused in a barn could easily have ruined it.

after that connect an icp dealer to get a conversion kit.

Thanks. Why does it say on the inside "When installed with Horizontal Vent kit No..., this is a direct vent forced air furnace that complies with..."

What makes a unit able to be installed horizontally or not?

How would one go about testing to see if the heat exchanger is cracked?

Thanks for the ICP resource.

The horz vent kit means it's side wall ventable. Illegal now with out a power booster.

Unit has to be laboratory certified to operate horz,

You need to have the heat exchanger professionally checked by a certified HVAC tech.

OK, got it. There is a Comfortmaker label on it so can I seek out Comfortmaker dealers as well? I am not getting an easy search on ICP dealers.

Thanks!
