smell of new furnace

When a new furnace is installed and fired up for the first time it will smell like burnt oil smell it's only the manufacturing oil and material left on the parts and will go away after a couple firings. If you turn you furnace back on a year later there may be a strange odor when it fires up for the first time of the new season but should go away after the first firing. If it don't call a pro.

smell of new furnace

Get it checked by a Pro. CO Carbon monoxide is odorless BUT it is combined with the fumes from the smoke to the chimney which can be spilling into your house, hence the risk of CO poisoning.
