Sizing A/C for a basement

I'm finishing my basement and want to include a separate central A/C system. I'd like to do as much work as I can myself (maybe have a pro come in to pressure test and charge the system). My first step is to determine the amount of cooling I need. The Manual J doesn't seem to include basements in its calculations. Is there an easy way to figure this out?

Thanks,

Steve
