want to install a 2ton ac blower what size should my first pieces of main duct be

Depends on the total equivalent length of the duct system. That includes adding length for turns,boots,takeoffs, offsets ect. 8x22 would be good in most homes.

its a ranch house, so i'm going to put all the equiment at one end and just have one straight run....after the plunum no more than 24 feet...total house is only 39 long

im goig to have at the most 5 six inch supplys and 2 five inch supplys for bathrooms and 1 eight inch for some air flow in basement, with return
