Simple code question
Our church has an old (late 1960s) all-electric forced-air heater that heats the sanctuary.
An HVAC contractor told us it would be against code to hook it up so that we could run the blower fan only; most thermostats, incl. ours, let you do this.
In other words, on the thermostat, there is a fan switch that has either "AUTO" or "ON", and it's not hooked up right now so that when you switch it to "ON", the blower fan only comes on and recircs the air. We want to be able to do this so we can put an electrostatic precipitator in the airstream.
Is this really against code?? That seems so unlikely.
no its not, time to find another contractor.
