Shop Heater
I have a 20X24 shop that I want to put a window AC/Heating unit in. What will give me the best heat a heat pump unit or a heat strip unit. I have a 220 outlet to run off

Depends how much heat your shop needs. And if you intend to keep it heated 24/7 or not.
Along with how cold your area gets. |

I think Beenthere means anything around 35 degrees Fahrenheit or less the heat pump greatly loses efficiency.

A regular heat pump with electric aux heat will work fine for you.
Most window and PTAC heat pumps can't run both the heat pump and strip heat at the same time. And many heat pump PTACs don't have electric strip. So thats why i said depends on building and area. Electric strip only will be cheap to install, expensive to use. A regular heat pump with aux electric strip heat will be expensive upfront to install, and cheaper to use. |
