sheetmetal duct

I am going to make a run of 14x10 duct in 4 foot sections. To join the section i see where the normal process is to use s and drive cleats. forming the bends for the drive cleats will be difficult for me. I want to know if i can put it together with s cleats and run screws in the cleats to hold it together instead of use drive cleats. thx

Not accepted practice. Slips and drives. Pittsburgh slips!
