Sheet Rock Dust

Would it be ok for the Plumber to turn on my new Geo furnace system before we are completely done in side my new construction house. He does not want to do it untill all interior work is done but it is Nov and gettting cold out side. I could turn it off during the day while we are installing sheet rock if need be.

Sheet rock dust is the MOST horrible stuff to get out of ductwork/furnaces/coils etc. It literally is as fine as white flour and you can never get rid of it all. I would avoid it like "The Plague". Use a temporary electric or propane construction heater. Apparently sheet rock taping likes moisture and the propane flame gives off moisture which is good for it.

if it is a question of pipes freezing maybe..but if your cutting rock pre-heat the place before the work ..if you have a return grill in the hall ways double filter that to catch ANY dust besides the rock dust...if it is for comfort tell the workers to put on long johns

Great way to void the warranty.

Drywall dust will really screw it up.

Get some other form of temp heat.

Drywall dust when it gets inside any motor will destroy it. Like dumping grit into the bearings and windings. May void the warranty as they inspect a LOT of parts when they are returned for warranty nowadays. Dirt and lack of maintenance is NOT covered.
