Ruud furnace - Thermostat calls for heat fan comes in right away/no heat

I have replaced the limit switch in the heat chamber and reset all others. Still the same. Fan comes on right away but no heat.

It will flash - flash pause flash - flash pause and so on

Count the flashes and the seperator will be a two second pause and start again

Lights... 1 yellow and 2 green

yellow flashes 4 times (slowly) and as the fan starts the yellow light flashes rapidly. Doesn't seem to have any 2 second brks

green lights come on and stay on.

Usually on one of the furnace door panels there will be a code chart or the meaning of the LED's in the series they are flashing

No led chart on the panels. a trouble shooting guide on the mother board panel but it's limited and doesn't address the problem I'm having. I don't have a book. Bought house 34 yrs ago. It was 10yrs old then.

From some other sites I read that you are having a pressure switch problem

Check the flue for restrictions..bird nest, dead bird ect

You could also remove the flue from the furnace temporaly and try to start the furnace and see if it starts and runs

If the flue is OK then you will need to check the voltage to the switch in and out and then the pressure.

Pressure is measured in inches of water column and you will need a manometer to measure it.

Start with the flue

What type of thermostat do you have? Is it an older electronic type? It may be faulty. When this happens check with a volt meter from G to C and W to C. Should not have 24 volts from G to C as that starts the fan. Should have 24 volts from W to C. Looks like a 1994 RUUD with a newer board, the older ones had no LEDs.

I had put on a new thermostat 4 yrs ago. thought that might be the problem so I put back on the old thermostat and the problem was the same.

is there a place on line that I can get the codes for the LED lights?
