Ruud filter?

Okay, this is really lame, but I cannot for the life of me find the filter on our ruud UGTA-07EMAES model.

Where the heck is it? Can someone look at the photo on page 2 and give me a clue?

would be external to the furnace? (ie P6 external filer rack accessory)

It's either at the start of the return air duct(filter grill) or end of the return air duct (filter rack).

I don't see anything like that. There is a Honeywell electronic air cleaner, but that is different. The lower door on the ruud says "filter access door," but when I open it (and the top one in the spec photo) I really can't find anything that seems remotely like a filter.

there is something called a permanent filter n it.

when the pdf is open, do a control then F

then type filter in the search box. you will be searching through the document for the word filter.

You wouldn't have a disposable filter and an electronic air cleaner. The honeywell EAC is your filter. Make sure to clean the EAC cells and pre-filters at least once a month.

Thanks for the information everyone. I am glad I posted the Honeywell info and thanks for asking the questions that got to the answer. The Honeywell it is, so now I have the answer.

You can clean the HW 'filters' or elements with a garden house, if it's not too cold outdoors. Note direction of how each comes out. Otherwise, dishwasher or bathtub (with towels down).

I used a backpack blower (air only) when it was very cold.

If you use water of any kind to clean and elements are not completely dry, you will hear a crackle noise (burning ozone) until dry. This is normal.

Clean after any construction when airborne wallboard compound is sanded.
