RPJ II Comfortmaker - 1996


Heater will stop working and blow cold air. I shut off the unit for 5-10min then turn it back on and will work. LED flashes 1 time. Any ideas out there ? Already cleaned sensor. HELP

Need more info. does it have vent motor, ignitor. direct ignition or pilot ??

have the heat exchanger checked outside of what is currently wrong with furnace Known for cracked heat exchangers

RPJ II Comfortmaker - 1996


What would be avg cost to replace heat exch. ? And wouldnt the tech check that since he has been out to twice ?

Heat exchanger is the 1 st thing I check. Tech has been there twice and it still doesn't operate ??

Yup. Suggested a new Unit ! I would be better with a parts changer !!! He mentioned that it could be a bunch of different things.

Knowing the error code is fashing 1 red LED wouldnt that help the tech navigate to the problem ??!

If the tech knows what he's doing & has a vm,he wouldn't have to rely on error code. I've repaired many with vm B-4 they used error codes

I agree kenmac. Tech out twice and not fixed and you expect him to have checked heat exchanger? and no may not have been checked if you didn't pay for HE check. some include this with diag, some don't. Should always be included with tune-up (clean and check)
