Rod that can make a 90 deg turn to push open a damper??

I have a damper that vibrates closed, from the vent its about 1.5 feet in then it makes a 90 degree turn and then damper is about 3 feet down from there.

Whats the best way to knock that open? Some kind of flexible rod I'd imagine.

I can reach my hand in all the way to the 90 deg turn, but then have about more feet to go.

Id think that the cheapest most convenient thing would be to get a metal clothes hanger and straighten it out then fold it in half. Should give you something flexible enough to get through the 90 but strong enough to push the damper open. Metal hangers have so many uses!

I'm not sure if that would be long enough.

What about a piece of soft copper piping?

Can you explain this a little better? Why dont you go into the attic and put a spring on it? Are you going to reach in and push it open every time it vibrates closed?

Wonder if a sewage pipe inspection camera could work. You can shove all sorts of stuff down there but you kind of need to see what's happening too. Might be able to just push it with the camera.
