RiteTemp or other Flush Mount Thermostats

Hey everyone!

Was looking for some feedback and/or recommendations.

Been thinking it's about time to replace our old thermostats with something new. I really like the nice big touch-screen flush mounts that mount IN the wall, not ON the wall.

I've been looking at the RiteTemp 6036. (http://www.ritetemp-thermostats.com/60XX/6036.html) Does anyone have this thermostat or have any experience with this thermostat? Does anyone have any similar style thermostats they can recommend? Preferably something that doesn't have an "EVIL GREEN" back-light?

Thanks for any input, guys!

Example of what I'm talking about. Nice appearance and mounted in the wall.

Dont really care for Ritemp or Hunter brand stats and remember, once you cut a hole in your wall, your married to it.
Just stick with a good Honeywell standard mount stat.

Well, a wall can be repaired if an installation doesn't work out, but I'm really looking for a nice flush mounted thermostat control for various reasons. Mostly for aesthetic and location reasons.

So, I would be interested in hearing feedback on in-wall/flush mount controls in the $50 to $120 (ish) range. What do you like/dislike, and why?

Thanks!

In my honest opinion, Ritemp thermostats are crappy. I like Honeywell and White-Rodgers.
I've not seen too many flush mount stats, although I recall my grandparents had a small Carrier flush mount stat in their house.

Our Home Depot used to carry the stat that you are interested in but discontinued it, I noticed one time I was in there and they had a clearence sticker on them. Just wasnt a good seller.

My biggest concern with the unit you are looking at, is the brand and like I said before, I wouldnt want the larger hole in the wall.

I just did a quick search and found the Carrier and Venstar flush mount thermostat. If I had to choose, I would say one of these two over the Ritemp but I'm not familliar with the reliability of these two, they may be junk also.
Maybe someone with a little more experience with the Carrier stuff will come along.

Great! Thank you very much for your input! I appreciate it and will look into the two you mentioned. Exactly the type of input I'm looking for.

WOW! The Venstar Color Touch is just wild! And for what it is, pretty reasonably priced. Was out of the price range I was thinking, but may be worth changing my price range for, if it's a quality piece.

Anyone have experience with the T5800?

I have installed the "ritetemp" in my home and it works very well.never had an issue with it in the 2 years I've had it and I like the features available like calibration and swing.
The color touch is very colorful, Lol.
