Rheem RXIH-AS09A operation issue

I have a York furnace(1999) and a Rheem steam humidifier I just added to my system. When I power up the humidifier it causes the furnace blower to run all the time.

Wiring:
Therm to Furnace
Y-Y, W-W, R-R
Therm to Hum
G-GT
Furn to Hum
C-C, G-GF, R-R

Rheem RXIH-AS09A operation issue

If you turn the humidistat all the way down, does the blower still run after 30 seconds..

With a steam humidifier I would think that the blower should run as long as there is a call for humidity. As Beenthere asked..does the blower shut off if humidistat is turned to minimum. Unless relative humidity is less than minimum setting. Blower should turn off once humidistst setpoint is reached.

most steam humidifiers are wired to control the fan as long as there is a call for humidity.

Yes, the fan does turn off if the humidistat is set to a value below the current humidity level. After reviewing the installation manual I see that this is normal behavior. I didn't expect humidification if the furnace was not running. Thanks for the feedback. This unit seems to be doing a good job, my humidity level has increased from 34% up to 43% in a couple of days. My previous bypass humidifier didn't seem to do anything.

might want to tighten up your home a bit. Or you'll be getting some big electric bills.

What do you mean beenthere? What are you basing your comment on; low initial humidity, rate of increase, I don't understand.

It took a couple days to increase indoor RH by 9%. Its an electric steam humidifier. It uses a lot of electric to make that steam. Taking a couple days means it gonna give you a high electric bill to maintain that higher RH. So tighten up your house so it doesn't have to run as much.
