Rheem Furnace No Heat, Help

I have been toying with this issue for about 1 week now. It started as the ignitor would glow and the burners would ignite but only run for about 20 secs, unless i utrned off the furnace power for 2 mins then it would run normally for 1-2 days. Now I have the thermostat calling for heat. the gas is working and so is the air blower cause i get air movement thru the whole house. BUT the ignitor( the piece that turns bright red then the flames ignites from the gas) will not turn red. No matter how many or how long I turn off the power to the furnace for.. Any ideas? If i can fix this myself that would be huge. Thanks

Rheem Furnace No Heat, Help

It sounds like you just need to replace the hot surface igniter. You can check to see if you are getting 120 volts to it during a call for heat to confirm it is bad. Make sure you use the same style and model as the old one.
