Rheem Centurion gas furnace

I have been having an issue with my furnace the past few days and am in need of some help/advice/direction as to the possible cause of the problem. First, the problem is inconsistent and happens at different times during the day. Also it appears that it is happening randomly without any action taken by me. The furnace will cut on and run through its normal start up process and proceed to begin to blow hot air, but it will only run for approximately 1-2 minutes, then it will shut off long before it gets anywhere close to matching the temperature that the thermostat is set to. I tried increasing the temp on the thermostat by a few degrees, only to have the same thing happen. (Thermostat is on an interior wall in the hallway).
Again, this happens intermittently (sometimes it will happen twice before it runs through complete cycle, other times the heat wont run normally for 4 or 5 hours causing the house to get quite cold). In case it has an impact on a solution, the hot water heater also runs on natural gas and has been working perfect.
Any suggestions/help are greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you have a blinking diagnostic led light on your furnace? Look for it through the door grills or an inspection port. If its on a board behind a door with a door switch then tape that switch shut so that the next time the furnace locks out, you can open that door and record the flashing sequence without losing it when the power goes off.
