return air- will this work?

Hi all-

I have a 10 " existing return pipe that I would like to Y down to 2 - 8" pipes that are connected to 2- 4" x 14" registers.

Will this configuration work?

We would need to know the size of the furnace and A/C to give you any kind of close answer. I will say that 4x14 grills will be way to small.
