Rerouting 6" Flex - quick question

Hi all,

I need to reroute a piece of 6" flex in my basement around a wall to remove the need for building around it when I finish the basement. To do this, I need to add a 3' or 6' piece of flex on the end of it and attach the new end to the boot. What I need to know is this: what is the standard practice for adding an extension onto an existing piece of flex?

I'm guessing that it's just zip ties on the inside with a metal connector between each section and the metal tape on the outside, just as though it were connected to a boot. Is there anything else I need to do?

I realize that this will antagonize airflow for this vent slightly since I'm lengthening the flex and adding a couple of bends.... but it's a bathroom vent that isn't used now anyway and doesn't have a problem with airflow besides....

thanks! :)

Yep. Just use a piece of 6" pipe.
