requirements for havc work and service


Iam hoping this post will help homeowners to understand what it takes to perform legal functions on hvac equiptment...from tools to??????? feel free to chime in....I'll start it off...proper hvac training

A $15000.00+ service van full of expensive tools & supply's from A to Z,(and still not having the right stuff on hand) Getting certified and insured.

DVOM with type K thermocouple temperature input... also nice to have a clamp-on type K to use on refrigerant lines to get measurements for subcooling and superheat.

One tool I borrowed that I really liked was a refrigerant scale. Good to see in real time just how much is going in to the ounce... and would make accurate billing simple. Before I used that I used a people digital scale that read in 1/2 pound increments and timed out so I had to lift the jug and hit the start button to get each reading. What a PITA.
