replacing thermocoupler in Heil horizontal furnace

I have a Heil horizontal furnace (approx 21 yrs old) and the pilot won't stay lit.
I'm trying to replace the thermocoupler but am having trouble getting the old one out. I have removed the two screws that hold the pilot tube and coupler in place but that didn't allow me to remove it... it just loosened the bracket.

Is there a trick to it or is it just a pain to get out?
