replacing an old heat thermostat

My old Honeywell has only 2 wires, black and white. The only labels on their connections are 1 & 2.
The new prgramable G, W, Y, R & Rc
How do I know where to connect the 2 wires?
It is for an oil heat system only.

Never mind I figured it out.

R to W is heating.....check the configuration settings for the heating system so the stat knows what it is running.verify that you need a true 24V at the subbase for the stat to pull the system in...if it is missing the dial led will light up but you won't get action on the relays in the boiler when it calls.
