Replace Whole House Air Filter
2 Attachment(s)
Hey All,
I am just seeking some advice/tips on replacing a whole house air filter. We recently moved into our house, and the current filter is shot. I purchased a Trion HE 1400, which was the closest thing I could find to the original unit. They are the same size length and width (16x25), however, the new filter is 7 1/4" deep, where the existing unit is 4 1/2". Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Any heating and air shop will have the size you need. Also the big box hardware stores carry them. Around here the price is the same at either place.

Take it back and get your money back.
Disable the electric to your old one. And put a 4" media air filter in it. And change it every 6 to 12 months. |
I would have liked to see that Filter box installed upright next to the heater with the return coming in the side. Oh well can't have everything.
Follow beenthere advice. |
yeah, i would have liked it next to the blower as well...not sure why they didnt do that in the first place.

Thats up to you.
Media air filters can trap smaller particles then electronic ones though. |
