Replace Thermostat Help

I'm trying to change out my old Trane Weathertron Thermostat with a Carrier Thermostat. Below is the information I know about both (which isn't much):

Trane Weathertron Baystat239A - Currently there are eight wires hooked up to this thermostat. Those wires are below with my understanding of what each of them are based on looking through the web.
X2 - Emergency Heat
O - Switches the heat pump from cooling to heating
G - Fan
Y - Compressor in both heating and cooling
T - Outdoor temperature compensating thermostat sensor
R - Hot power
W - Aux heat
U - No wires connected
F - No wires connected
B - Common

The thermostat I'm replacing the Trane thermostat with is a Carrier Comfort Series Non-Programmable (33CSCNACHP-01) thermostat.
Rc - 24V Cooling equipment
Rh - 24V Heating equipment
W/W1 - Heating
C - Common
G - Fan
Y - Cooling
O/B - Reversing Valve
Y1 - Not used

Can anyone help me figure out what goes to what? I obviously have very little idea about these but I'm remotely handy so I figured I could replace it myself...Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do you have a heat pump or a furnace?

Replace Thermostat Help

I don't think so...not sure really. I live in Florida. I know I have an outside unit and an air handler unit in the attic. Beyond that I'm unsure. Does that help at all? I'm pretty sure I don't have a furnace.

Replace Thermostat Help

Alright we'll as far as I can tell u have a heat pump. You'll need to read through your installation manual and make sure the thermostat is heat pump compatable and any switches you need to move on the thermostat to convert it to be compatable. Then in the manual it should also give you any changed wire terminal names or new configurations. The only immediate change I can see right now is that common will be C not B, most of the rest will be pretty straight across red to R, green to G, white to W and so on. other than that though u have a nice picture to refer to during installation of new thermostat. Not all DIYers take a picture then they get confused and end up on the phone for instructions. So nice job there.

The yellow wire will need to go on the Y terminal or you won't have A/C.

Your old stat is a heat pump thermostat. The T terminal is an anticipator terminal for Trane heat pumps. Not needed with the new stat.

Post model number of your outdoor unit and indoor unit, so we can be sure of what you have.
