Replace Johnson Control with Fenwal

Hi Guys:

I have very little experience, but reading these posts and finding a "direct" replacement for the G776RGD-11 box, I found and purchased a Fenwal 35-63J303-117. Although the connectors have moved around, they are well labeled and not a problem. This is on a Lennox furnace C23-51

However, there is a thin rubber hose going to the Johnson unit that is not air, but has a wire in the middle; the same post on the Fenwal unit is quite different and has no contact post in the middle.

What now?

That is the high voltage spark ignition wire. Fenwal has an adaptor for it and supply it on the control. Read the install info. Usually people buy the Honeywell kit from cozyparts.com.

I found the install info and you need to use the adaptor on the control Rajah type and figure out how to attach the ignition wire to it. I have not run into it yet.

Thanks, Yuri:

I did not get installation instructions. I did download the product info (4 pages), with no hint of an adapter or any other instructions. Do you have a link to it?

I Googled this and it should be your control. On top of it is a gold colored spark plug adaptor Rajah adaptor. Usually you have to strip some of the spark plug wire insulation and then shove the wire inside and then crimp it so it attaches to the adaptor. If you bought it from ee-bayy then a lot of the time it is used and junk. Did it come in a sealed box? If not I would order the Honeywell kit from cozyparts.com
