Replace Furnace Blower Motor
I have a 8 year old Bryant furnace. I had a furnace tech diagnose that the blower motor has a flat spot on the armature. Estimated $500 to replace. Is this a DIY project?

If you have the proper motor, it is fairly straight forward. Ensure you know where all the wires from your motor connect to your control board and the wires that go to your capacitor. It is good practice to replace the capacitor at the same time as the motor..it is cheap.Any extra wires you have on the motor should be put on Park terminals on the board if you have them or marretted and taped off. Make sure that you have the same horsepower and mounting as you do on your old motor..take it in with you to the motor supply house near you to be sure. If you are unsure about anything else, ask here before you proceed. good luck
