Replace furnace or blower

I know my blower/motor setup needs to be changed. I have a 30 year old furnace. Should I just replace the blower/motor and then later replace the furnace? If so, will the new blower I get now be compatible with a new furnace?

Or should I just replace the entire furnace, blower, etc all at once?

I'd hate to spend a few hundred on the blower then in a few years need to spend money on a new furnace which is not compatible with the new blower.

The AC unit is new and retrofitted and sits on top of the furnace.

Assuming you're talking about standard home heating equipment, then a new furnace will come with a new blower, so any money you spend on your current furnace would be a waste.

Have you had the furnace inspected by a professional? There's a better than average chance that a 30 year old furnace would have quite a few other issues as well.

A couple of years ago, yes. He said that it looked and tested well at the time and I could get 3-5 more years out of it. It's getting to be about that time...

you might spend some $$ to get the latest health check up from a pro and make your decision about buying new vs. repair.

my replacement blower only cost $140 bucks (and I replaced it) so it was a no brainer for me.

replacement blower motor? blower wheel only? Or entire blower housing complete with wheel and motor?

sorry, I should have been more clear. I replaced the blower motor and a capacitor
