Replace 3x10 heat register with 4x10?

Hello,

I'm redoing the flooring in a kitchen, and I have an opportunity to upsize the heat register in the room. Is it worthwhile? Are 3x10 registers acceptable for central A/C?

Its a 1950's bungalow with 1000 finished sq. ft., an unfinished basement, and a 1.5 ton A/C in a Canadian (Southeastern Ontario) climate.

Thanks!
