Remove and replace single duct span
On the narrower side of the duct are metal strips called drives. They are slid in place on metal "tracks" on eighther side of the duct, then the ends are folded over.
Take a screwdriver, and bend up both ends. grab the end with a pair of pliers, and pull or pound the drive off.
Support the duct before you pull them all off. Metal edges are sharp, be careful.
The longer metal strips that are on the duct are called "S" locks, which align and seal the two pieces of duct.
If you damage any of them, measure and purchase new ones.
Have fun!...AND...you have a great excuse to purchase a tool...a DUCT STRETCHER...honest thats what its called. Gives you great control of the duct when installing, or removing.
