Remove baseboard heat?

I am attempting to install some additional cabinets in my kitchen. However, there is baseboard heat running along the walls (at the floor). I would like to remove these vents in order to have the cabinets flush against the wall. Can anyone offer some advice on the best way to remove these things? I would need to remove 2 walls of the baseboard heat. Is this something better handled by a professional? Thanks

Remove baseboard heat?

Basically, I just need to know what would be involved in sealing and removing the pipes located behind the vent boards, any advice from anyone who has done this would be greatly appreciated

Remove baseboard heat?

Is this area on the first floor?

Does this house have a basement?

Can you see where the duct goes to supply these vents from the basement?

Remove baseboard heat?

Yes, the kitchen is on the first floor. The house has a finished basement, so I am not able to see where the pipes go from the basement. I was wondering if I would just be able to cap off the pipes somehow from the kitchen once I removed them, what do you think?

Does the basement have a drop ceiling that you can remove a tile and get sense of the the duct work for this vent?

Do you have other vents in the kitchen that will supply hot air (heat) for the kitchen after you remove these behind the cabinets?

Remove the vent covers and look to see if the duct only supplies heat to the kitchent. If the duct flows in more than one direction then it may supply other vents in other rooms These ducts may also send heat to another room or to the second floor.

Do the current cabinets have a toe kick area? If so, how tall is the toe kick area? (2 inches, 3 inches, 4 inches..)
