registers/central air

Newly installed central air. I am trying to replace the old vents for registers for my new system. How do I know which are "return" & "supply vents? Or should I simply replace ceiling vents w/supply vents (as i had in my old swamp coolong system ? Thanks.

Turn your system on so it stays on. Whichever has air blowing out of it are supplies. You can also uses sheet of paper. If it gets sucked onto a grill, that's the return.
