Should the receiver drier be replaced when replacing a coil?

receiver driers with new coil?


The LIQUID LINE drier should be replaced when replacing a coil.

Its just good practice to replace the liquid line dryer whenever the system is broken open.

Agreed with all of the above. The exceptions being if they had dry nitrogen flowing through the lines while the system was open or if the drier in in the condensing unit. In that case no moisture can get in so the drier would not need replaced.

Id install/replace suction line dryer at same time if it were me

receiver driers with new coil?


suction driers in my opinion are useless... unless you have had a bad burn you dont need one.... also a suction filter is not ment to be left in the sytem .They are to clean up acid and once they do there job they should be removed ......

Ok so you dont think theres a chance of whatever took the coil out being sucked back through the system into the condensor?

the coil either leaked.. or the drain pan rusted if its metal..not sure why coil being changed.... so I still say no suction scruber......

manufactors provide them for a reason with some units....must be a good reason replace it with coil ....

A suction drier..... I have never in 30 years been supplied a suction drier with a new unit.... a liquid line drier different story... good practice to install one....
