Radiant heat under the tub

I had an engineer do the pipe layout for my in-floor heat and I noticed he didn't put any piping under the tub. Should there be some so that when you get in, the floor of the tub is warm or would the heat not transfer to the tub.

That is not typically done. The tub would trap more of that heat than it would transfer. Tubs normally go directly onto the subfloor. Radiant heat systems go under a finished floor.

Agreed, usually radiant heat is not installed under fixtures, cabinets etc

Thanks for the info. Since I have an engineered drawing showing the location of the pipes is this something I should attempt myself or would there be any benefits to paying the extra cost of hiring a professional to do it.

I think it depends on your level of confidence and ability. I would definately read all I could about installing the system befor attempting it. From what I have seen they use PEX which is relatively user friendly and have slots that hole the tubing at the proper spacing.
