radiant heat

I have a 1500 sq ft ranch on a slab. It has a forced air furnace now w/ducts in the slab. I'm not really a fan of the forced air system and I'm toying with the idea of radiant hot water heat. Is there products out that I won't have to bust up the concrete or add a top coat? I really don't want to raise the floor a lot and I don't want baseboard.

How well does this type of heat work under carpet? Does it have adverse affects on hardwood (drying it out and shrinking it)?

How do I figure boiler size, or will a tankless heater work?

Do a heat loss calc, and that will tell you how big of a boiler you need.
