Default Questions about duct system

Am trying to maximize temperature at register in a room. Am using a probe thermometer and noticed that the temperature would rise a couple of degrees after I had inadvertently closed down the register somewhat.

Since there was little change in air flow, does it make sense to use this technique (close down slightly) on any/all registers? Would it increase throw? Effect on static?

All dampers are wide open, or nearly so. System is quiet, runs 2 - 3 cycles per hour, depending on outdoor temperatures. Just that 1 or 2 rooms on north side sometimes cool.

Close the registers in the south rooms.

You can probably close them completely during the day, then open em at night (if you have the inclination to do that extra work).

If not, just close them partway. Open them back up in the summer.
