Question: I had a nother posting here on my heating system that I added a radiator to and wanting to add more water to replenish the system after opening it up to add a new radiator in the system. Its a Weil McLain CG Boiler. Ive read cold fill pressure s/b about 12 -14 psi in a manual. The question is how cold s/b the boiler on the side gauge when filling? I live in Illinois and need heat! Can someone let me know what temperature the boiler s/b at to add more water with my by-pass valve?
call your neighborhood heating man, I'm sure they will be happy to give you the correct answer. do you really want to trust an answer from the internet ? what if its the wrong answer ?
I love this site - there are great resources here. . .
I love this site - there are great resources here. . . why are you here if you are questioning its validity? I have had TREMENDOUS assistance and advise here. Tremendous.
At ambient room temp boiler is at 14-15lbs at cold fill.
With heat on and house at a good temerature, system is at 24-25psi and about 150 degrees.
Its hard to read the gauge at an odd angle with the water heater near by in the way.
Seem about right? Should I watch for anything else?
