Question on Refilling / topping off Weil McLain Boiler

Question: I had a nother posting here on my heating system that I added a radiator to and wanting to add more water to replenish the system after opening it up to add a new radiator in the system. Its a Weil McLain CG Boiler. Ive read cold fill pressure s/b about 12 -14 psi in a manual. The question is how cold s/b the boiler on the side gauge when filling? I live in Illinois and need heat! Can someone let me know what temperature the boiler s/b at to add more water with my by-pass valve?

As long as the boiler isn't over 200F, you won't have any issues adding water. The piping on your boiler is ok for this.

Ok, all seems to be good. 15lbs at cold fill

Ok, all seems to be good.

At ambient room temp boiler is at 14-15lbs at cold fill.

With heat on and house at a good temerature, system is at 24-25psi and about 150 degrees.

Its hard to read the gauge at an odd angle with the water heater near by in the way.

Seem about right? Should I watch for anything else?
