Question on hooking up the compressor on a Goodman

I had a loose wire on a Goodman A/C unit. After taking the unit apart, I m having a difficult time reconnecting the loose wire to the terminal off of the compressor. The terimal attached to the wire and the point on the compressor I need to connect it to have some corrosion on them. Can someone tell me if there's a specific type of connector I need to get to attach to the compressor and to the wire so that the connection can be established? Also, can these be found at a big box store? I'm hoping to get it up and running tomorrow.

thanks a lot

Yes, you need a special connector. Are you saying the terminal is corroded or the terminal connector is damaged? If the actual compressor terminal is corroded, you will need to clean it up and put on a terminal lock. Here is one brand:

It slides over the terminal, and you have to tighten a fastener on the the terminal.

thanks for the tip. I had a hard time finding a supply house that would sell this simple part to a hvac student - but did finally find one.
Thanks again
