problem with york heater


I am having trouble with a York diamond 90
gas heater [COLOR=#000096 ! important][COLOR=#000096 ! important][/COLOR][/COLOR]. The unit does not come on at all about once every five or six days all I have to do is shut off the thermostat and turn it back on and it comes back on. Ive replaced the thermostat twice now with the same problem it seems like the stat sends the comand to come on but the heater does not respond. someone suggested the control board but I dont want to spend the $200 for a new one if someone has a better solution

problem with york heater


Sits in front of one of the burners. Clean the flame sensor with emery paper. Should look like one of these:

If there is a viewing window on one of the furnace doors B4 you reset the power see if the red LED is blinking an error code. Find the legend for the code in the owners manual or on the back of one of the doors.

Thanks yuri but Ill have to wait untill it happens again
to see what code is flashing could take a week so stay tuned

ill also look at the flame rod in the mean time to see how that looks
