Problem with Payne ultra 90

After reading the ongoing postings to this thread, it has become clear that the furnace you have is older than previously assumed and this unit has no LED on said board. I am glad however that thing are working!

Thanks undone, I'm learning as I go from you guys and thank you all for your time. I guess I should have mentioned my furnace is probably 22 years old since that is the age of my house. I have only lived here for 5 years though, so I have no history prior to that.

I am however beginning to think I am learning enough about my furnace to really get myself into trouble! The good news is it is still working flawlessly going on 3 days now.

Do you recall the last step you perfomed prior to your "success"?

Problem with Payne ultra 90

Well, I did my first post in these forums shortly after the last time I had to restart the furnace. Since then I checked both inlet and exhaust and both were clear. I checked every terminal, wire, plug, and hose connection I could find, twice! I checked all my supply registers and found 5 of 16 closed and opened them.

So, there are 3 possibilities. I moved a wire or plug that was not making a good connection, the 5 closed registers were causing the problem (I doubt this). Or, i have fixed nothing and it is just on a good streak. like I mentioned in the beginning, sometimes it will run for a whole week perfectly before it acts up. Sometimes I'm resetting it 5-6 times a day.

Update! My furnace is acting up again. I just had to restart it but I think know whats wrong. This time before I restarted it by shutting everything off I opened the compartment with the main control board. I noticed that the one big relay on it would activate when I closed the door interlock and the furnace still did not come on so I tapped on the other relay...nothing happened. I then pulled the plug going to the card and then plugged it back in. The relay I was tapping on sparked (inside, its the old type with the clear plastic case) and the inducer fan immediately started and everything else in turn. So I'm hoping the card I bought will fix this!
