plenum installation question

My wife and I bought a home and the furnace is missing the plenum. The house we bought is a manufactured side by side home. The furnace is an inthertherm model to the furnace is M2RL-060A-16B.

There is a cold air return from the roof that connects to where the plenum would be.

I was wondering if I took the measurement of the top of the furnace and bought the plenum that fits that measurement, added a filter tray, and cut out a hole for the air return?

I want it to be done right but I'm also trying to save money...
I can't find any manuals on the furnace and the manu website does not have a phone number to call for support.

Take the doors off and post a picture on how those pipes hook up. If it's a sealed combustion then your plan will work. If it's not sealed combustion then the return needs to be 10' away.

So a few things I should add. The part that is missing is the return air plenum. I've been told that I just need to attach a plenum to the top of the furnace cut out a section to put the filter in, and attach the fresh air return that is there.

So all I should have to do is take the measurements, buy the correct size plenum piece, cut out one side, add a thing to attach the filter, and cut out the size for the fresh air. Then secure it to the top of the furnace with screws and some furnace duct work tape?
