Plenum fire.

Is duct board fire resistant?, is there danger of fire in plenum from elec heat strips?.

While duct board will burn. It has to get REAL HOT before it will burn.

Got lots of heat pumps with strip heaters ducted in with duct board. No problem from the strip heaters.

If you need proof. Take a small piece of duct board outside, place it on a 2X4. And then use a hand torch or acetylene air torch on it for 15 seconds. Then look at the duct board and the 2X4.

Then take a piece of sheet metal and place it on top of another 2X4, or flip the same 2X4 over, and heat the sheet metal with the torch the same way and amount of time. And look at the 2X4.
