I have a ADP coil HX8J36D14205

What size piston will work best for a 2.5 ton 10 seer CU?

piston size is based on the outdoor unit. Check installation manual of outdoor unit.

10 SEER? I know you probably don't want to hear this but nowdays 13 SEER is almost obsolete and 13 SEER is light years head of 10. From what I've been told by a few local insiders, in a few years 16 SEER is going to be the minimum required by the state (Texas) along with an 80% efficiency furnace.

Just a heads up as the time is coming for you to upgrade your entire system, whether you were wanting to or not. Be prepared.

Good luck.

ADP would be who you would ask what piston to use. They used a computer simulation to determine what condensers that coil will match to.

The OEM's don't test their condensers to see how they work with third party coils.

The EPA is the one behind it, Montreal Protocal and all that jazz. I heard that the 16 SEER equipment mandate will go into effect on the next code upgrade in the year 2014 or 2016. I'll have to check on that but yes, it's coming.
